Chief Marketing Officer

Sheryl Tullis is the Chief Marketing Officer TA Group, a private equity firm and investment portfolio in Bellevue, WA.

She’s known for challenging the status quo, graduating from West Point in the first decade of women alumni.  While a cadet, she qualified Airborne and interned as a speechwriter for General Colin Powell.

From military information systems to tech marketing leader, her career spans P&G, Microsoft, mobile experience agencies, staffing, and technology consulting. Sheryl automated the first decision support system for the Army Directorate of Information Management in Germany, then created and led Procter & Gamble’s first e-commerce business. At Microsoft she served as Chief of Staff to the Chief Marketing Officer, helping transform the company’s shift to digital marketing. She then led the Marketing Excellence group, responsible for talent, training and development for 7,700 marketers, digital capabilities, and World Class Marketing practices.

When Sheryl joined TA Group, she helped pioneer the country’s first tech certification program for transitioning military veterans. She then led the Bellevue division of Averro staffing. She became a Direct Technology Partner in 2015 and a Launch Consulting Partner in 2017. She now directs marketing and strategic communications for all TAG portfolio companies. 

A strong advocate for women and BIPOC leaders in STEAM, Sheryl founded the Seattle chapter of mBolden (formerly Women in Wireless) and she won the Mobile Growth Summit / mBolden “People’s Choice” award for her work as global president of the non-profit which champions women in digital. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Tilson Technology Management. Her right brain/left-brain perspective helps leaders scale their business while creating a culture that helps people thrive.  When she unplugs, Sheryl likes to travel with family and friends, and seek new adventures of every kind.
