John Sercu, was born and raised in Napa, CA and is the CEO of TA Group Holdings. Together with his two business partners, The TA Group has grown from one small company of $2 M in revenue to 14 companies and over $130 M in revenue in 12 years. John has 32 years of experience owning, operating, leading, and growing businesses in the technology and consumer products industries. In his tenure John has been the CEO of 7 companies and has particular skill and success in turning around companies that were either mismanaged, weren’t going fast enough or were consistently missing targets. John and his team provide operational infrastructure to stabilize the company while John typically becomes the Operating CEO or and advisor to the CEO, the leadership team and the board in order to achieve success. In addition John has completed 33 acquisitions in 14 years, with one failure. Prior to leading TA Group Holdings, John was the CEO of Direct Technology, a Technology Services and Software Company. John’s other experience includes senior level roles in consumer products sales and sales operations with Coke, Pepsi, and The Coors Brewing Company.
John holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from Sacramento State University and is a graduate of the University of Washington Graduate Management Program, Kellogg School of Business Executive Leadership Course with a concentration in sales force optimization. John is a veteran of the United States Army.
John’s strength lies in his intense approach to people focused in performance management, team development and sales optimization. His specialty is evaluating business opportunities, crafting and implementing the vision and strategies necessary to drive financial growth. John’s hard hitting, transparent approach has benefited many. He particularly enjoys mentoring early tenure Presidents and CEO’s, serving on the Board of several companies, and participating as an active member of the Pacific NW Chapter of WPO Golden.
John, his wife Susan, and their two children, Giuliana and Jack, reside in Sammamish, WA. Together with his family and his business partners, John believes strongly in a philanthropic commitment and regularly contributes to organizations that serve veterans and their dependents, Water 1st International and The Paralysis Now Foundation.
